The Characters of Cancer Can't Dance Like This

*Winner of the 2011 Canadian Comedy Award for Best One Person Show

Written By Daniel Stolfi
Directed By Andrew Ferguson
Produced By Jennifer De Lucia, Andrew Ferguson and Daniel Stolfi

Daniel Stolfi doesn’t give up. In 2008, he and two friends were rehearsing a Fringe show when Stolfi developed a form of lymphoma that required two years of chemotherapy.

Show cancelled.

But the experience led to Cancer Can’t Dance Like This, a solo piece based on his experiences and focused on the comic aspect of the treatment. Filled with larger-than-life characters, the narrative follows Stolfi’s loss of several things: his hair, appetite, sex drive and ability to dance.

The show has toured the country, won a Canadian Comedy Award and raised close to $100,000 for cancer research.
